Meet Dr. Ismail Essop
Dr. Essop was always interested in biology. Before becoming a Dentist, he aspired to become a microbiologist. However, while studying, he felt he needed a more fulfilling and impactful career. Dentistry provided the perfect mix of biology, practicality and community involvement.

After completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Western Cape, Dr Essop then worked for the State, followed by working in a Private practice. Seeing the big differences between public and private healthcare, he decided to establish Mint Dental – a place where anyone can receive compassionate and comprehensive dental care, WITHOUT spending a small fortune.
